Our Grand Past
The first meeting of our church took place on Sunday, April 28, 1963, when sixty-eight men, women and children assembled at the old Godfrey Civic Center. The first sermon was given by one of the members, Elbert (Bud) Dixon. The church met regularly at the Civic Center until January 1964.
On January 5, 1964, the Minister’s home was completed and we met there for the first time with 144 people in attendance. The church at our present Humbert Road location was born.
Our church building was completed in August 1964. The first meeting in the new building was on August 23, 1964 with an attendance of 132. Paul Hughey performed the first baptism in the new building by bringing Nancy Franklin to Christ.
The annex was built in the summer of 1966. Originally, it was only to be a platform with a roof. The men of the congregation did the work themselves. The annex now serves in many capacities as a convenient place to gather for fellowship.

As We Look Ahead With Hope and Love
We have been blessed with many helping hands to carry on the Lord’s work. We are grateful for those who have contributed to our rich and resonant history. It is our fervent prayer that we build upon this glorious foundation as we look ahead in our service to the Lord.
